Murals

There are a series of murals exposed in this station that had been reproduced in ceramic by Raúl and Daniel De Francisco. The works:

  • Litografías de Belgrano (Litographs of Belgrano)
    Author: Juan Antonio Spotorno.
    Year: 1999

    The mural was made by integrating three litographs from a total of twelve that were created by the painter, who lived in Belgrano in 1949; it came to life with the joint work of the ceramists and descendants of the artist.
  • Crucero A.R.A. General Belgrano (General Belgrano crusier)
    Author: Jorge F. Schwarz.
    Year: 1998
    Acrilic painting especially made by the author for this mural. Its object was to pay homenage to the crew of the ship, who had to face such difficult circumstances.
  • Asalto de la Cuarta Columna Argentina A. Curupaytí (The Argentine Fourth Column Attacks Curupaytí)
    Author: Cándido López.
    Oil on canvas, painted in 1898 by Cándido López. During the war against Paraguay, the artist made pencil sketches of uniforms, landscapes and encampments that he later used to develop a series of paintings of the war, painted with his left hand, having had his right amputated due to a wound he received during the battle of Curupaytí.
  • Un alto en el campo (A Stop in the Country)
    Author: Prilidiano Pueyrredón.
    Painted in 1861, recreates scenes and characters that depict life in Buenos Aires during the past century.
  • Lavanderas en el bajo de Belgrano (The Laundresses of the Low Grounds of Belgrano)
    Author: Prilidiano Pueyrredón.
    A fifth mural has been donated and is placed along the wall of the access to the station. It is a reproduction of the painting Lavanderas de Belgrano (The Laundresses of the Low Grounds of Belgrano) by Prilidiano Pueyrredón, painted in 1865. This painting is a testimonial of the years of the town of Belgrano in the area of the Barrancas (the High Banks).

Archeology

The remains in exhibition were found during the excavations during the construction work of Line D.
