Current Network
The actual network consists of five subway lines and one superficial line (“premetro” or pre-subway), reaching a total extension of 48.9 km. Estimations show that the subterranean transport covers 10% of the total trips carried out daily within the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires; that is, 1,200,000 passengers per day.
The Network’s design is radially concentric; it consists of 4 radial lines and a transversal one, which unites two of the most important railway stations and covers all of Microcentro (micro-downtown). This system has shown an excellent connection with the main railway lines, articulating the most vital passenger transference centers of the City.
Line A: it actually transports an average of 206.000 passengers per working day.
Línea B: it actually transports an average of 355.000 passengers per working day.
Línea C: it has a total of nine stations and transports 273.000 passengers per working day.
Línea D: The Line D has its main route under Cabildo, Santa Fe and Córdoba avenues, joining the Congreso de Tucumán and Catedral headers. It has a total extension of 11 Km. and 16 stations. It daily carries more than 410.000 passengers.
Línea E: Line E has an extension of 9.6 Km. A total of 15 stations and transports more than 99.000 passengers.
