Line D
The first stretch of the Line D construction (CATEDRAL – TRIBUNALES) was inaugurated on June 3rd, 1937, with a 1.7 km long tunnel, including a combination with Line C.
Three years later, on February 23rd, 1940, Line D reached Palermo with the inauguration of the Plaza Italia – Palermo stretch, with a 6.5 km extension.
Several years later, the Line reached Ministro Carranza, which was inaugurated partially on December 28th, 1987 and totally, with both railway tracks and the manoeuvre track, on December 1st, 1993. In 1997 Olleros and José Hernández were inaugurated, in 1999 Juramento and in 2000 Congreso de Tucumán.
The axe of Line D’s itinerary is settled under Av. Cabildo, Av. Santa Fe and Av. Córdoba, and it unites the terminals Congreso de Tucumán and Catedral. It is 11 km long and has 16 stations. It carries more than 380,000 passengers every day.
